The History Of UFOs

Today when the word UFO comes up automatically most people think of Alien's, and think you must be crazy if you believe in them. First of all let's start with what UFO stands for, Unidentified Flying Object which can be anything that can fly, from birds, all the way to top secret aircraft, maybe even craft from other planets. The modern day perception comes from movies I believe, but when you take time to research UFOs you will find that UFOs can be a wide number of thing's, let's start with some UFO history. Most people, even some researchers think that UFOs came from one of three sources, the Kenneth Arnold sighting, Roswell, or the foo fighters of world war two. Most people who read the bible know that angels, and religious events often had some kind of unexplained craft which came from the sky, these too are UFOs.

The modern UFOs did become very popular in world war two when pilots reported seeing ball's of light chasing them,and was reported, and named by the U.S. 415th Night Fighter Squadron. Although these objects were thought to be enemy weapons, by the end of the war, and to this day they are unexplained. Before the war our country already had almost one hundred years of UFO sightings, also known as the airship mysteries, which started sometime in the mid, to late 1800's. It was not until Kenneth Arnold's sighting of UFOs near Mount Rainier on June 24th 1947 that he said were like two saucers stacked on top of one another that the modern craze swept our nation, and the world. Just two weeks later one of the biggest UFO case's ever happened, Roswell, on July 8th 1947 when Roswell Army Air Field announced they had captured a Flying Disk from a nearby ranch. Shortly after the first press release another one was called where they said the crash was that of a weather balloon. The case was forgotten until Stanton Friedman interview Jesse Marcel Jr in 1978, and he first book on the case was published.

Since Roswell people have reported seeing UFOs all over the world with thousands of reports, photo's, and videos showing objects that are still unknown till his day. Most researchers say 99% of reports can be explained by natural phenomena like swamp gas, but I tend to think the number may be wrong. We have to all remember that UFOs do not mean Alien Craft, if they did we would call them that. It may be that in our near future we learn what these craft are, with projects like the Disclosure Project, and the Million Fax on Washington calling for an end to Government secrets, and cover up. 70% of Americans asked, said they believed in UFOs, but for some reason they won't publicly admit it, is it wrong to want to know what is flying in our skies, and to believe there may be something there the public has yet learned about? The true ,history of UFOs will never be 100%, who knows when our ancestors started seeing them, and how they interpreted them?
